On October 7 President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that Belarus was not going to engage in an information conflict with Russia. "By no means should we get into this fight. Let them say and state whatever they want. Why should escalate the situation around this? If they are in need of another enemy — let them escalate the conflict," the head of state.

According to Alexander Lukashenko, the Belarusians will not support the country leadership if it «gets into this fight.» In addition, as the president says, this fact affects negatively the image of Belarus in the eyes of the Russian people. «What for? For being low estimated by the Russian people? No, thank you,» the Belarusian leader emphasized.

According to Alexander Lukashenko, we should be engaged in the countries internal affairs instead of information warfare, BelTA informs. «We should maintain our economy, which needs a new program. Today the major issue is not even the elections. The main thing is the country, which is not indifferent to the political situation and, to be more precise, to the development program for the next five-year term.  Then every person will try to find out: where his family is, where his salary is, his work, the right for life, the right for security and safety. We should deal with all these questions,» the President stressed.

At the same time, Alexander Lukashenko believes that «people need to clarify the situation, but keep aside of this rigmarole.» «Only weak people respond in a rude and disgraceful way when they are trampled in the mud. It’s not about us,» the president said.
