Belarus Paid $223 for Russian Gas in First Quarter of 2011

In turn, the chairman of Belgazprombank Board of Directors, deputy chairman of Gazprom, Andrei Kruglov, said after a meeting with Belarusian partners that Gazprom and Beltransgaz were keeping to their contractual obligations, BelTA informs.

According to Andrei Kruglov, the Russian side sees no reason for Beltransgaz not to fulfill its contractual obligations in the future. At the same time, he noted that all issues the parties could resolve during negotiations, despite the fact that «life is multifaceted and changeable.»

Deputy Chairman of Belgazprombank Board of Directors, Deputy Chairman of Gazprombank Board Alexander Sobol stressed, in his turn, that the foreign debt of Belarus was not so critical to be alarming to the Russian side. Alexander Sobol also sees «nothing wrong» in increasing the foreign debt of the state. In his view, the main point is how the government will handle external borrowing.
