Belarus plans to increase diversification of oil supply to 10 million tons per year in the long term. This was announced by the Deputy Energy Minister of Belarus Yuri Rymashevsky on October 13. "It was agreed to increase the annual supply of oil from 4 to 10 million tons in 2010 in order to diversify oil supply," the representative of the Ministry of Energy said.

According to Yuri Rymashevsky, the agreement to increase annual oil supply in Belarus is provided by the energy potential development Strategy for 2011-2015, BelTA informs.

The chemical and petrochemical industry of Belarus provides for the 92% oil processing depth by 2015, a representative of the Ministry of Energy noted. In addition, according to Yuri Rymashevsky, it is scheduled to complete brown coal development and the mountain-chemical plant construction for the oil shale processing by 2014.

«Reduction of the oil production decline rate will be provided in the oil industry. Belarus will produce above 1.6 million tons by 2015,» a spokesman for the Ministry of Energy said.

Yuri Rymashevsky also named the volumes of gas pumping into the underground gas storage facilities. 2010 is planed to have a billion cubic meters of gas in UGS, 2015 — 1.5 billion, 2020 — up to 4.5 billion cubic meters. «This is consistent with international practice of energy security,» the deputy minister said. Thus, the development of transit potential of Belarus and active use of existing gas transportation corridors are provided.
