Belarus Proposes Include Russia in Eastern Partnership's Friends

Spokesman of Foreign Ministry, Andrei Savinykh, reported that Belarus had proposed to include Russia and Kazakhstan in the Group of Friends of the Eastern Partnership. "Different countries offer different partners to be included in this Group of Friends. It's natural that the Republic of Belarus offers its partners within the Customs Union", MFA representative said.

As explained by the head of information department of Belarusian foreign ministry, in Belarus it is considered that Russia and Kazakhstan’s participation in the Group of Friends of the EP «will favour to strengthen the common economic space within the Wider Europe», the press service of Foreign Ministry informs.

‘We also propose to include in the Group Friends European states which are not in the European Union, but make part of the European Free Trade Association (Iceland, Norway, Switzerland and Liechtenstein — Telegraf)», Andrei Savinykh said and added that «other states also have their proposals, and these issues will be also discussed».
