The development of relations between Belarus and the EU will depend on how presidential election will be held on December 19. "The European Union will watch closely the preparation and holding of election, and we hope that they will be properly. Taking into account these elections we'll see how the relations between Belarus and the EU will continue to develop", Christoph Weil, Ambassador of Germany to Belarus, said.

The Ambassador stressed that both Germany and the European Union are ready to deepen their relations with Belarus, but only on the basis of common values. «It’s no secret that both Berlin and Brussels are ready to deepen relations. But Europe is permeated with the spirit of partnership, and this spirit presupposes shared values,» Christoph Weil said, AFN informs.
