Belarus Remains in Customs Union, Kobyakov

The First Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Andrei Kobyakov stated at economic forum in Saint-Petersburg that Minsk didn't refuse to join the Customs union with Russia and Kazakhstan. At the same time, he emphasized, that the work on the solving of disputable at issues with Russia would be continued.

According to Andrei Kobyakov, the necessity of the further discussion of disputable issues was proved at the recent meeting of the presidents Alexander Lukashenko and Dmitry Medvedev in Moscow, the news agency «Regnum-Belarus» informs. The results of these negotiations are still unclear.

In turn, the First Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Igor Shuvalov informed that the question on joining of Belarus to the Customs Union would be definitively solved at the meeting of the heads of three states at the Intergovernmental EAEC Council in Kazakhstan on July, 5th.

«The work format since July, 1st will be defined at the meeting of the heads of the states on July , 5th in Astana.» If Belarus doesn’t ratify the Customs Code we should keep the customs control. If the Customs Union fully operates since July, 1st the border will become transparent «, the First Deputy Prime Minister of Russia said, news agency RIA Novosti informs.

«We (the commission of the Customs Union — Telegraf) on our side have held the necessary conciliations, tomorrow we will carry on negotiations in format of Kazakhstan, Belarus and Russia where all necessary questions for start of the Customs Union will be definitively considered», Igor Shuvalov said.
