Belarus "Temporarily and by Force" Recalls Its Ambassador in Bishkek, Foreign Ministry

Head of Information Department of Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Andrei Savinykh, stated that Belarus has recalled its ambassador to Kyrgyzstan, Viktor Denisenko. According to Belarusian Foreign Ministry, it was a "necessary measure "which "is temporary".

«We took this step because of the threat to life and health of our employees. This threat comes from extremist elements which are beyond any control», Andrei Savinykh said and added that other staff of Belarusian Embassy in Bishkek has been also seconded to MFA central apparatus.

According to Foreign Ministry representative, «once the situation normalizes, Belarusian diplomats will return to their duties in the host country», the press service of Belarusian Foreign Ministry informs.

«I want to stress that this decision is not connected with any other factors, except safety reasons», the head of the Information department of Belarusian MFA said.

As Telegraf previously reported, parents of the dead in April riots in Kyrgyzstan held a picket in front of Belarusian Embassy building in Bishkek on May 13. They demanded Belarusian side to extradite the president of Kyrgyzstan, Kurmanbek Bakiyev.
