The Department of Energy of Belarus sent the letter to Anne Houtman, Director for General Policy of the European Union's Directorate General for Energy and Transport, in which informed that "nonconstructive Gazprom policy and the further reduction by the Russian side of gas delivery to Belarus can cause technical reduction of gas transit to Europe".

It is also noticed in the letter that on June, 21st Russia, having fulfilled the promise, reduced by 15 % natural gas delivery for internal consumption of Belarus. While in the country there is a large number of the industrial enterprises with continuous work cycle, sharp gas reduction can cause serious consequences, BelTA informs.

Thus, Belarus does it best to debar reduction of transit gas delivery of to Europe, the representatives of the Department of Energy stated.

Belarus informed the structures of Eurocommission that Gazprom’s requirement to repay immediately the debts was not proved enough with operating contract.

It is noticed as well that Gazprom’s debt for gas transit exceeded the amount which the Russian side demanded to repay. It was written in the letter, that «nevertheless Gazprom refuses to hold constructive negotiations and consultations»,.

Belarus limits the enterprises’ gas consumption

In connection with restriction of fuel deliveries from Russia, Belarus made the decision to limit consumption of gas for number of the industrial enterprises.

The representatives of Department of Energy informed that Dmitry Annyuk, Assistant to the General Manager of Beltransgaz, signed the given certificates in the name of Belarus.
