Minister of Construction and Architecture of Belarus, Alexander Seleznev, stated that in 2011 in the country there planned to build 9.1 million square meters of housing, while the decree of the Council of Ministers and the National Bank № 1749/19 provides the construction of 6.96 million this year.

However, the head of Architecture and Construction Ministry noted that some governors asked to limit housing construction.

According to Alexander Seleznev, the heads of regions urge to build more social infrastructure facilities instead of residential houses. However, the state decided to allot additional means for these purposes and will not adjust the plans for housing commissioning, BelTA informs.

The minister defined the main problem when constructing the housing in a lack of experts because of builders going out to work in Russia. The authorities are going to solve it through Ukrainians, Moldovans and Lithuanians, Alexander Seleznev reported.
