Belarus to Establish IT-Academy

IT-Academy will be established in High-Tech Park of Belarus by the end of this year. This was reported by the director of HTP administration, Valeri Tsepkalo. "The project of creating IT-academy, or a new education center, is scheduled to be completed by January 1, 2012," said Valeri Tsepkalo.

«The new center will enhance the HTP ability for Training in IT-industry. In parallel, work on the creation of business incubator, where young programmers will be able to implement the most promising of their business projects, is carried out in the Park. The business incubator will be opened next summer,» noted Valeri Tsepkalo, BelTA informs.

HTP Administration Director also added that the buildings in the Park of High Technologies would be more intense in the coming years. «Previously, we attributed our plans for building with one of the major investors, but now we have several customers, which will enable to shortly build up the park. HTP administration, our two resident companies, Minsk City Executive Committee, as well as one of the foreign companies, are our customers,» he said.

High-Tech Park was established in 2005 with a view to creating favorable conditions for improving the competitiveness of the Belarusian economy industries based on new and high technologies. Today there are 94 resident companies in the park. They carry out projects in banking, telecommunications, oil, gas and other industries, as well as are involved in projects to create e-government in the CIS countries. Exports of HTP software has been growing steadily since 2005. The share of exports in total production of High-Tech Park is about 80%. The customers are companies from 45 countries worldwide.
