Belarus to Open up to 200 Joint Ventures with Foreign Capital a Year

In the 5-year term Belarus will annually open up to 200 joint ventures with foreign capital and attract three to four billion dollars of direct foreign investment , Said Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov on September 22 at the opening of a new plant JV "Bahco Bisov", which is located in the free economic zone "Minsk". 

The joint Belarusian-Swedish enterprise «Bahco Bisov» has been operating in Belarus since 1999. The company has been producing bimetallic band saw blades. Production has been increased with time, and the creation of a new plant is a proof. Vice Prime Minister thanked the foreign investors «for their faith in Belarus» and expressed confidence that the process will go» in the same vein, and cooperation will continue its development.» The second phase of the plant is expected to be built, the Council of Ministers reported .. 

«Bucco» branded products are bought by BMZ, MTW, «Mogilevliftmash, BelAZ, as well as almost all wood processing plants in Belarus. At the same time 85% saws are exported. It is planned to expand production. SNA Europe Company expects that the project will pay for itself in 5-6 years.

As The Telegraf reported, Swedish concern SNA Europe, launched in FEZ «Minsk», is the only plant on the territory of the CIS which produce bimetallic strip and circular saws. The production required $ 23 million of investors money.
