Lithuania asked Belarus to provide further clarification and information on the construction of the Belarusian nuclear power plant. As Telegraf journalist learnt, the Belarusian side is ready to provide Lithuania all the documents of interest. On this December 23, Foreign Ministry spokesman Andrei Savinykh said.

«I can confirm receipt of the notes. These documents can be called a note of protest only with a high degree of imagination. It does not match reality. Rather, we can talk about the request of the Lithuanian side to provide additional clarification and information on the issue of the Lithuanian side’s interests», Andrei Savinykh said.
According to the press secretary of Belarusian Foreign Ministry, the Lithuanian side was misled by a private news agency that altered the position of Belarusian officials «because of their own incompetence or incompetence of the journalist.»
«With this project Belarus strictly follow all its international obligations. We are interested in close cooperation with our international partners to ensure full transparency of the process», — Andrei Savinykh said.
As Telegraf informed, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania asked for explanations of the statements by the belarusian officials, concerning the planned construction of the Belarusian nuclear power plant (NPP). In addition, the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry notes that the Vilnius still has objections, relating to this project’s impact on the environment.
