Belarus insists on revising the agreement on Russian gas supplies. This was stated by Deputy Economy Minister Anatoly Filonov on October 14. "The gas price for Belarus next year will be determined by the price formula, depending on oil prices," a spokesman for the Ministry of Economy said.

In this case, Anatoly Filonov notes that «this matter is likely be considered at the Union Council of Ministers in the context of documents, being prepared in the gas sphere,» BelTA informs.

Deputy Economy Minister also remarks that Belarus insists on a simultaneous with Russia equal gas pricing. «For example, if Russia is planning the equal profits for «Gazprom» gas exports and the domestic market by 2014, then we also have to reache approximately the same price level for this period»,  Anatoly Filonov said.

According to the representative of Ministry of Economy, it allows to create an equal competitive environment for Belarusian producers. «We are currently at a disadvantage — energy prices are much higher here,» Anatoliy Filonov noted.

Turning to the question of the possibility of changing the coefficient, applied to the gas supply price, by the federal Council of Ministers Anatoly Filonov said: «I think this issue will be discussed.»
