Belarus to Renew Closer Contacts with IMF by Autumn

The Ministry of Finance of Belarus plans to renew closer contacts with the International Monetary Fund by autumn this year. As Minister of Finance Andrey Kharkovets said, renewal of closer contacts with IMF would depend on the situation of national economy for eight months.

Now, according to the head of the Ministry of Finance, Belarus doesn’t require emergency financing of economy at the expense of IMF means, BelTA informs. In Belarus now there is no serious economic rupture, and the new program of cooperation is necessary when it is, Andrey Kharkovets explained.

Thus the minister noticed that Belarus continues to develop actively technical cooperation with IMF. «We work intensively today in this sector of cooperation», the head of the Ministry of Finance said.

As Telegraf informed, the representatives of National Bank of Belarus stated following the results of the work in the country of the IMF mission that the experts of the International Monetary Fund had positively estimated realization of the key parametres and stand-by program terms by Belarusian authorities.

It was also said in the statement of National Bank, that IMF mentioned positive influence of the programm on decrease of negative external factors influence on Belarus.

The program stand-by provided allocation to Belarus IMF stabilisation credit in amount of 3,46 billion dollars. In turn, before reception credit of IMF , Belarusian party was obliged to implement liberalisation of economic activities in the country.
