The Belarusian side is interested in attracting tourists from Israel to rural farmsteads. With the purpose, in Belarus there organized a press tour for a group of Israeli journalists writing about tourism. It was reported to Telegraf correspondent by the chairman of Belarusian public association "Rest in the village", Valeria Klitsunova.

In late August, nine representatives of major news agencies and editions of Israel will visit Belarus for the first time, the tour organizer said.

«Israel is not a strange country for us. About 30 thousand of Belarusians reside there permanently. A lot of people have Jewish roots. Moreover, visa regime between our states will be abolished soon. That’s why it is better to start demonstrating Belarus to foreign guests now», Valeria Klitsunova said.

Valeria Klitsunova notes that to order an article about possibilities of ecotourism in Belarus in the Israeli press is quite expensive. «None of tour operators will do it. Furthermore, you need to know how and what to write about the country», the chairman of «Rest in the village» explains. «So we decided to invite journalists of major editions of Jerusalem here».

The organization of the press tour was initiated by the Ministry of Sports of Belarus, BPA «Rest in the village» and supported by Israeli Embassy in Belarus and Belarusian Embassy in Israel. The partners of the first press tour of Israeli journalists to Belarus are «Sun D’or International Airlines» Israeli airlines (Sandor) and Tourist Information Centre in Minsk, Minsk, Grodno and Brest Regional Executive Committees, «Polesskie traditsii», «Veres», «Nad Nemanon, «Ganka» rural farmsteads.

One-week program of the tour presupposes the participation of Israeli journalists in the international culinary festival «Motalskie prysmaki», visit of national parks and wildlife preserves of Belarus, acquaintance with Belarusian cultural and historical heritage. The journalists will also visit places connected with Jewish history and will spend several days in rural farmsteads.

«We are sure that this initiative will positively affect the dynamics of tourist flow from Israel to Belarus, will promote a positive image of our country and strengthen bilateral cooperation», the organizer, Valeria Klitsunova, stated.
