Alexander Krasko notes that «Polotsk-Steklovolokno» has already been active in the U.S. market for 15 years. Nevertheless, the U.S. share of sales of the company is only 5%, so the State Department’s abolition of the valid license, according to a company representative, only slightly affects the structure of sales, BelTA informs.

According to the company, «Polotsk-Steklovolokno» cooperated with 41 countries in 2010, including 34 countries of the far abroad. The main markets for the company are Russia, Germany, Poland, China, Ukraine and Romania.

«The broad country strategy, the diversification of markets and trade flows help joint-stock company to maintain a stable financial position. The company has a wide range of products; it has been integrated into the global economy, has been active in introducing new technologies, market development and future ranges,» said Alexander Krasko.

In turn, the second company received the message of the United States’ economic sanctions with astonishment. According to Ludmila Birich, Deputy Director for Personnel, ideological and social work of «Lakokraska,» the company generally does not cooperate with the United States, despite the company’s being export oriented (58% of its production earmarked for foreign markets).

As Telegraf previously reported, the U.S. State Department announced the resumption of economic sanctions against Belarus on January 31. The U.S. authorities revoked the documents, according to which American citizens may have business with «Lakokraska» and «Polotsk-Steklovolokno,» subsidiaries of «Belneftekhim.»
