Belarusbank, following the National Bank of Belarus's recommendations, regulated foreign currency trading to individuals for their socially significant costs outside the country. May 16, 36 people already applied to banks for foreign currency purchasing for social purposes. This was reported in Belarusbank.
According to the bank’s management decree, foreign currency trading for medical treatment, tuition payment and living expenses of students abroad, foreign trips due to relatives’ serious illness or death will be implemented by the bank’ structural units on a cashless basis, credited waith the customer’s current, deposit or card account, followed by international transfer of foreign currency on the declared target (the accounts of medical and educational institutions) based on the decision of the bank’s Finance Committee.
To purchase currency the applicant should contact the nearest facility of Belarusbank, providing the needed documents (individually set in each case) and specifying the desired amount. In case of the statement’s validity, the register of applications received is directed to the bank’s central office under consideration of the Finance Committee. The applicant must be informed on both the positive and the negative decision of the Committee.
In case of emergency (death of a close relative abroad, and others) head of bank may decide on his own to sell foreign currency outside the queue with subsequent notification of the central office for the sale approval.
