Belarusian-Chinese Joint Ventures May Be Created in Mechanical Engineering and Pharmaceutics

Belarus and China plan to develop cooperation in the field of mechanical engineering, pharmaceutics, energy and other industries. At present, there being studied opportunities to establish new joint ventures. It was reported by deputy chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Alexander Tsyganov.

Belarusian government, ministries and departments are currently discussing the possibility of creation of new high-tech industries. The specialists from Belarusian Academy of Sciences to participate as experts, BelTA informs.

According to Alexander Tsyganov, Belarusian-Chinese cooperation in science and technology spheres is constantly expanding. «If previously, Chinese experts worked with Belarusians mainly in application studies, then today they are interested in development of fundamental science. China has good experience in implementing all new, and we should learn it from them», deputy chairman of the Presidium of the NAS of Belarus expressed his opinion.

Recently, Belarusian delegation from the Institute of heat and mass exchange held the talks in China about the organization of deliveries of Belarusian technologies and equipment for Chinese thermoelectric power plants. The project is estimated at 120 million dollars. Alexander Tsyganov did not specify the terms of its implementation, noting that negotiations were still ongoing.

To the date, organizations of Belarusian NAS jointly with Chinese partners are implementing six projects of the program of scientific and technical cooperation for 2008-2010 and long-term program of cooperation for 2006-2010. In 2011-2012, it is planned to realize three joint projects.
