History teaches us that Belarusians are strong with their unity and friendship. It was stated by the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, when congratulating the members of the VIII Republican festival of national cultures with the start of the final events, the press service of the head of state informs.
«From ancient times, Belarusian land, as an affectionate mother, received the representatives of different nations», the head of state noticed. «They worked together, created their own families, and if it was necessary- fought for the country’s independence in arms. A good example of our citizens’ patriotism was The Great Patriotic War, when we rose together to defend Belarus and made a significant contribution to the common victory».
«Belarus and we are the one, and therefore our sacred duty is to support those centuries-old ties connecting the people of our country into one nation, to assist representatives of different nations in preserving their spiritual features to enrich common Belarusian culture», the president said, addressing the festival’s participants.
«May this great festival contribute to all of us in this noble mission, become a real holiday, provide an opportunity to get acquainted with the artistic heritage of different national communities and discover new talents», Belarusian leader said.
Alexander Lukashenko wished the festival’s participants «good health, happiness, inexhaustible inspiration and success in their fruitful work for the benefit of our dear Belarus».
