Belarusian Criminal Escaped From Butyrka Prison

26-year-old Belarusian, Vitaly Ostrovsky, suspected in theft, made a daring escape from the Butyrsky detention facility in Moscow. Over the past ten years, nobody could escape from Butyrka. Currently, the fugitive's orientation was sent to the all Moscow's police units. 

At present, the circumstances of the escape are still unknown. «It is hard to believe, but this man jumped over the bars and barbed wire like Olympian high jumper», said the spokesman of the capital’s Office of the Federal Penitentiary Service, Sergei Tsygankov, reports Life News. 

The last escape from Butyrka occurred in October 2001. Ivan Vinogradov — serving a sentence-was situated at the pre-trial prison, accused of assaulting a policeman, went to meet with a lawyer. After that, he was able to freely leave the prison, showing the identification card of Penitentiary Service officer at the exit, but in December, the same year, the fugitive was detained.
