A 55-year-old man from Vitsebsk tried to kill his niece right after his father's death, who'd handed down a legacy of a private house in the city. This was reported by a senior prosecutor of the legality control of judicial decisions in criminal matters and the analysis of judicial practice of the prosecutor office in Vitsebsk voblast, Dmitri Orehva.
The deceased issued a gift certificate to her granddaughter, thus causing his son’s outrage, left with nothing. On the day of his father’s death, a man, while intoxicated, called in his 27-year-old niece, and attacked her with a knife. He hit her several times in the face and body. However, the woman managed to escape to the neighbors, BelTA informs.
The Belarusian man was sentenced to 8.5 years in jail for attempted murder. The sentence came into force.
