Belarusian Opposition Leaves for Conference in Moscow

Today, August 30, Moscow will host a conference on Russian-Belarusian relations. On the part of Belarusian opposition, the meeting will be attended by the leader of the United Civil Party (UCP), Anatoly Lebedko, his deputy, aspirant for presidency of Belarus, Jaroslav Romanchuk, and the head of Fair World party, Sergei Kalyakin.

«We have created a viable platform for the interaction of politicians, experts and journalists. There is a demand and need for such an event and discussion», Anatoly Lebedko noted.

According to the UCP leader, more and more people understand the need to work out important decisions concerning Belarusian-Russian relations, to involve civil society, the press service of the party informs.

Jaroslav Romanchuk predicts that the conference work will be observed by many structures and people. «We hit the niche of topical, lively theme discussed as in corridors of power, so and among average Russians and Belarusians. Last year, we proposed to restart Belarusian-Russian relations. Following events proved that the vector had been set correctly», Jaroslav Romanchuk said.

In the past year, in Minsk there were held a similar conference. Then, the event was attended by 120 people, including politicians, journalists and diplomatic corps.
