Belarusian Red Cross Collects Donations for Japan

Belarusian Red Cross announced the acquisition of funds among residents, organizations and enterprises of the country to assist victims of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan. These donations are planned for purchase and deliveries of the necessary products to Japan, as well as medicine and medical equipment. 

The raised money is also available for acquisition of clothing for victims, as well as personal hygiene and sanitation, blankets, drinking water, equipment for shelters, means of communication. In addition, the money will be used to search for missing persons, restoring family links and many other needs.

«Belarusian Red Cross Society urges all people of the Republic of Belarus to provide all possible assistance to the population of Japan, affected by the earthquake and tsunami, as well as a nuclear technological disaster!» the website of the organization.

As Telegraf previously reported, the number of dead and missing as a result of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan exceeded 4.5 thousand people. Monday, March 14, a thousand dead people were found on the coast of the peninsula Osika in Miyagi Prefecture. Another thousand of corpses were discovered on the coast near the town of Minami-Sanriku on Monday.
