Eurovoice competition, which is likely to become an alternative to "Eurovision", was held for the first time in Athens, Greece, 23 and 24 September. Singer Berta, the only one of Belarusian representatives who was able to reach the final, sang the song «Everything's in you», written by composer Leonid Shirin and lyricist Olga Smink. Despite some faults during the preparation and conduct of the contest, the Belarusian girl managed to take fifth place

In contrast to the Eurovision contest Eurovoice winner is defined without a jury, only on the basis of audience sympathy. The winner, which is the «The Secret» group of Cyprus with the song «In The Arms Of My Angel», won the grand prize — $ 100 thousand — handed by the host of the contest, global sex symbol Pamela Anderson. Also, the group won a contract with a European label.

«I am very glad to have participated in this competition. Of course, I wanted to win very much, but such a high place in a series of 28 participants from European countries and the personal praise of the organizers are my greatest victory. I want to thank all the people who helped me to achieve it: the composer Leonid Shirin, lyricist Olga Smink, who had supported me all precontest week in Greece, arranger Yuri Vashchuk, channel MTV, which made the broadcast, and all the people who helped and supported me,» Berta said.

Unfortunately, the singer and her team were not able to come back home in time as the bag with all the documents, cash and credit cards was stolen. They had to be held in a police station the whole night from Saturday to Sunday in Athens. Monday, September 27, with the opening of the Belarusian embassy, Berta and her team hope to get a temporary passport and fly to Minsk.
