Belarusian Team Won the Silver in World Championships in Rhythmic Gymnastics

Belarusian team has won silver in the team tournament championship of the world in rhythmic gymnastics, which takes place in Moscow. Summing up four exercises Belarusian team (Melita Stanyuta, Lubov Cherkashina, Anna Ryabtseva, Alexandra Narkevich) scored 269.700 points.

Russian team (Eugenia Kanaeva, Daria Kondakova, Daria Dmitrieva, Yana Lukonina) took gold with 284.925 points, and bronze awards were given to the national team of Azerbaijan (Alia Garayeva, Anna Gurbanova, Samira Mustafayeva) — 265.225, BelTA informs.

It should be mentioned that on September 21 Melita Stanyuta won world championship bronze in the rope exercise.

Today qualifying competitions in the exercises with the ball and ribbon are held at the World Championships in Moscow. Moreover, sensation has already occurred in the exercise with a ribbon. Olympic champion-2008 Eugenia Kanaeva, having gained 28.350 points, let her compatriots Daria Kondakova (28.900) and Daria Dmitrieva (28.450) ahead. Competitions are still going on, but as only two athletes from one country can participate in the final tournament, Kanaeva is definitely not able to compete for medals. Melita Stanyuta(27.650) is on the 4-position now.

Medals in exercises with the ball and ribbon will be distributed tonight. Finals in the individual all-round will be held on September 24. And the final in the group all-around competitions is scheduled for September 25. Here, our country will be represented by Marina Goncharova, Ksenia Sankovich, Alina Tumilovich, Anastasia Ivankova and Alexandra Osipova.

The finals in group competition with individual objects (5 hoops, 3 tape 2 jump ropes) as well as the closing ceremony will take place on the final day, September 26.
