Four Bodies of Belarusian Tourists Found in Russia

Representative of the Directorate of Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Murmansk region, Tatiana Abramova, reported that rescuers found the bodies of the four Belarusian tourists covered by the avalanche in Murmansk region. The dead body of one of them was found on March 11, at 01:25 p.m., and after 1,5 hours another three bodies were found.

March 3, Belarusian six-man tourists group arrived to the foothills of Hibin. The group was not registered in the Murmansk search and rescue office, as security measures require, according RIA Novosti.

March 8, at 2.30 p.m., there was recorded the avalanche in this area. As a result, four tourists were covered by snow, two young men — 1981 and 1989 year of birth – survived.

The head-office of Ministry of Emergency Situations informs that search operations were complicated because of bad weather.

The head-office of Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in Murmansk region has established an operational headquarters to search tourists from Belarus. The spokesman of the diplomatic mission emphasized that consular officers of the Belarusian embassy are in constant contact with representatives of the Foreign Ministry of Russia in Murmansk region, Ministry of Emergency Situations and other competent institutions.
