Belarusian Wins the Second Stage of La Vuelta

On August 29, Belarusian athlete, Yauheni Hutarovich, won the second stage of La Vuelta cycling race of 173.7km. At the finish line, Belarusian, who represents FDJ team, managed to snatch the victory from the representative of the Isle of Man (UK) Mark Cavendish. His time is 4 hours 35 minutes 41 seconds.

As a result, as official website of La Vuelta informs, the stage standings are the following:

1. Yauheni Hutarovich (Belarus, FDJ).
2. Mark Cavendish (the Isle of Man, HTC-Columbia).
3. Tyler Farrar (United States, Garmin-Transitions).
4. Alessandro Petacchi (Italy, Lampre-Farnese Vini).
5. Manuel Cardoso (Portugal, Footon-Servetto).
6. Koldo Fernandez de Larrea (Spain, Euskaltel-Euskadi).
9. Denis Galimzyanov (Russia, Katusha).

In the overall standings of La Vuelta, the Briton Mark Cavendish is the first, Belarusian Konstantin Sivtsov is the second, Peter Velits of Slovakia is the third. All of them represent HTC-Columbia team. The winner of the second stage Yauheni Hutarovich ranks the 16th, one more Belarusian Branislau Samoilau is the61st.
