Belarusians from "3 +2" Reach Eurovision Final

Belarusian band "3 +2" has reached the final of the 55th international song contest Eurovision-2010, which takes place in Oslo. It was only the second time Belarusians go to the finals in the history of their participation in the contest. In the final show "3 +2" will be the 9th to perform a song. The order of performances was defined at a press conference after the semifinal by band members, Alena Karpovich and Artem Mikhalenko.

The artists from 17 countries presented their songs to the European TV audience on the stage of the largest in Northern Europe indoor sports-concert complex, Telenor Arena. The contestants’ performances were being watched by 15 thousand spectators in the hall and more than 120 million watched the live broadcast of the contest in different parts of the world, BelTA informs.

Besides Belarusians, the winners of the yesterdays’ show were: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Moldova, Russia, Greece, Portugal, Serbia, Belgium, Albania and Iceland.

«3 +2» performed a song «Butterflies», written for them by the Russian composer, Max Fadeev, and the Polish poet, Malka Chaplin. The band’s show was accompanied by the famous Swedish musician and composer, Robert Wells.

It is not known yet how many points the group from Belarus got, since the voting results are not to be open until the end of Eurovision. Nevertheless, Belarusian artists’ getting to the final is a high result for the country, since the thing has happened only once in a history of its participation. In 2007 Dmitry Koldun taking part in the show under the stage name of Koldun (Warlock) got the laurels. At the show in Helsinki, he performed a song of Philipp Kirkorov «Work your magic», which earned him the sixth place in the final.

The numbers of final performing among the other winners of the first semifinal are the following: Bosnia and Herzegovina — 6, Moldova — 4, Russia — 20, Greece — 11, Portugal — 23, Serbia — 8, Belgium — 7, Albania — 15 Iceland — 16.

Thus, the order of the show in Eurovision-2010 final is the next:

Missing gaps will be filled on May 27, at the end of the second semifinal. Eurovision-2010 final will be held on May 29.
