Experts estimated that total sum, lost by Belarusians in various lotteries, is more than $182 million (at least $20 million this year). This money could have been spent on about 5.2 thousand of one-bedroom apartments, for the sake of which most people participate in the lotteries.

According to the poll, 49% of people, participating in lotteries, would like to win a flat. However, Belarus has played at least 200 apartments. 30% of respondents participate in lotteries to win money, 14% — a car. About 4% of respondents would like to win a leisure trip, 1% — gold, a civil campaign «Tell the truth!» told.

According to experts, participants of a lottery in Belarus have presented its organizers with $ 60 million for eight years of its existence. The cost of one ticket is only $1.15. However, if we consider that about 250 thousand tickets worth of $287.5 thousand play weekly, we’ll find that the annual turnover of the lottery organizers will be about $15 million. However, participants lose half of that amount — about $7.5 million.

Players of the other lottery, having existed in Belarus since 2005, lost a total sum of about $120 million. For example, a typical lottery is bought up for $413 thousand, of which participants lose, as is the case with the previous lottery, almost half — $206.5 thousand.

Participants of another lottery, which runs more than 100 times a year, lose about $1 million. Daily lottery participants, which collects $10 thousand each year, lose at least $1.6 million.
