Belaruskali Denies Information about the Negotiations with Kerimov

In Belaruskali they did not confirm an information about the talks with Russian billionaire, Suleiman Kerimov, one of the owners of Russian Uralkali company, regarding the sale of Belarusian company shares. "We knew about Karimov's interest in buying shares from mass media, there is no certain information about it", stated in Belaruskali.

Moreover, deputy director of the State Property Fund of the State Property Committee of Belarus, Vladimir Kovalevsky, said that there was being completed the preparatory work for Belaruskali corporatization.

«All the preparatory work for Belaruskali corporatization is at the final stages, there will be established a joint stock company with 100% state capital», Vladimir Kovalevsky said, adding that joint stock company based on Belaruskali to be created this year.

According to the SPC representative, a decree on Belaruskali privatizing is adopted, BelTA informs. «We are waiting for a decision of sectoral commission and commission on privatization, and then an order on Belaruskali privatizing», Vladimir Kovalevsky noted. «There are no plans to carry out preferential sale of shares to the company’s employees and people equated to them. There will no exchange of Belaruskali shares to Imushchestvo (Property) vouchers».

Earlier, as Telegraph reported, mass media informed that Uralkali leadership was going to buy controlling stake of Belaruskali. Recently, one of the owners of Russian company, Suleiman Kerimov, has met with Belarusian President, Alexander Lukashenko. The businessman offered to buy Belaruskali controlling stake at of 7.5 billion dollars, a source close to one of Uralkali shareholders said.
