Belarus's Average Salary Amounted to $317 in April, Belstat

Gross average salary of workers in Belarus in April 2011 totaled Br1.56 million or $317 (in March — Br1.53 million or $311). This is evidenced by data from the National Statistical Committee. Average gross wages and salaries amounted to Br1.57 million last month (about $320).

According to the National Statistics Committee, nominal average monthly salary of the country’s workers in January-April 2011 amounted to Br1.480.000, including April — Br1.56 million, having increased by 1.7% compared to March (or by Br26.2 thousand equivalent to $5).

Real wages, calculated on the basis of the increase in consumer prices for goods and services increased by 23.4% in January-April 2011  compared with January-April 2010, and decreased by 2 7% in April against March 2011.

According to the National Statistics Committee, the industry average salary amounted to Br1.680.000 in April this year, in construction — Br1.9 million, in transport and communications — Br1.7 million, in agriculture, hunting and forestry — Br1.11 million, in education — Br1.240.000, including teachers — Br1.480.000, faculty members — Br2.2 million.

Salaries of health workers and social services amounted to Br1.280.000 in April 2011, including health care — Br1.31 million. Average salary of doctors amounted to  Br2.26 million, the nursing staff —  Br1.25 million.

As Telegraf previously reported, the average salary reached $500 in equivalent at the end of last year, as promised the Belarusian authorities. According to the National Statistics Committee, the gross average salary of workers in Belarus was Br1.6 million in December 2010 (about $530 according to the old rate).
