Belgian Investor Steals One Million Euro in Belarus

Minsk prosecutor's office initiated a criminal case against a citizen of Belgium, Muliar Michel Dirk Leon, who is the CEO of joint Belarusian-Belgian company SaMo Garden, located in Fanipol, Dzerzhinsk district, Minsk region. The Belgian is suspected of embezzling more than one million euro in Credexbank.

A criminal case was initiated after Belarusian bank’s application to protect its interests. The details are not cleared so far, Ezhednevnik informs

Minsk prosecutor’s office charges the CEO of SaMo Garden with theft of 1.05 million euro from Credexbank funds from March 2008 to April 2009. The credit should go to develop production, but the money disappeared in unknown direction.

In near future, Minsk prosecutor’s office intends to put a foreign investor in international search to find out where the credit money is, as well as take action to return it. In this regard, the implementation of investment project is in doubt.

SaMo Garden is engaged in woodwork. The company sells in Belarus and supplies for export various wooden structures and garden decorations.
