Belstat Names the Price of Venezuelan Oil for Belarus

According to the National Statistics Committee, in May 2010, Belarus imported 79.8 thousand tons of oil from countries outside the CIS at the price of 656 dollars per tone. In May, from foreign countries, Belarus imported oil only from Venezuela.

t the same time, over January-May, Belarus supplied 5.125 million tons of oil from Russia, the average price of which amounted to 398 dollars per tone. This amount includes both crude oil supplied duty-free (6.3 million tons in 2010) and oil supplied with export duty (7.8 million tons in 2010).

As Telegraf previously reported, the price of crude oil from Russia for Belarus on May 1 was equal to 284 dollars per ton, while export tax was equal to 248.2 dollars per ton. Thus the price of oil with duty for our country in May was 532.2 dollars.

In late June, Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus, Vladimir Semashko, stated that for Belarus it was more profitable to buy Venezuelan oil, than Russian with duty.

The export duty on crude oil from August 1 could grow by 13.2 — 15.2 dollars per ton to 262 — 264 dollars per ton. That is the price of oil to Belarus in the case of imposition of duty will grow to 548.4 dollars per ton.

An agreement to supply Venezuelan oil to Belarus was signed in March 2010. According to the arrangements, total volume of supply should reach about four million tons this year and 10 million tons in 2011.

On May 2, Mozyr Oil Refinery received the first train with Venezuelan oil. The first batch of hydrocarbon raw materials was delivered in 57 cars, its total weight was 4.4 tons.

The arrival of the next, already fourth tanker with Venezuelan crude oil of Santa Barbara sort for Belarus is waited in the port of Odessa on July 17.

The fifth tanker with Venezuelan oil of Santa Barbara sort for Belarus will arrive to Estonia, from where it will be delivered to Belarus by rail in the second half of July.
