Belarus' GDP Grows 3.5% in January and February 2010

March 10, the National Statistics Committee of Belarus informed that after two months of this year, GDP grew by 3.5%, in comparison with January-February period of 2009. In accordance with the annual forecast, the gross domestic product growth should reach 11-13% in 2010, reminds Belstat.

In particular, in January-February period, the growth rate of industrial production reached 4.2%, with the annual forecast of 10-12%, while the profitability of sold of products, works and services in the industry, in January, was 3.8% (annual forecast of 10%), the energy intensity of GDP was minus 5.7%, with the annual forecast of minus 8.10%, informs BELTA.

With regard to inflation, after two months of this year, it was equal to 1.3%, with 5.4% in January-February of 2009 (the annual forecast in the 8-10% frames). In February, the prices in Belarus grew by 0.5%.

In January, real incomes of population increased by 4.9% — comparing with the same period of 2009 — with the annual forecast of 14-15%.
