Beltelecom and IAC to Learn Working Under the Decree № 60

Beltelecom and Intelligence Analysis Center (IAC) under the President of Belarus will learn to work under new decree № 60 on Internet, entered into force from July 1. It was reported at a press conference in Minsk by director general of national telecom operator, Konstantin Tikar.

«Anyway, there will still be some time to work out right decisions, how to register, where to ban or not to ban something. The process is not as simple as it seems to be», director general of the company said, BelTA informs.

Furthermore, Konstantin Tikar recalled that the document stipulated identification of individual Internet user. According to the director general of the company, it causes many questions, because «public Internet access places are visited by people not attained 16 years old, and they have no passport».

«Any innovation must be accompanied by some transition period, where there may be some easing on potential violations», Konstantin Tikar believes.

CEO of Beltelekom also added that in Belarus there has registered all Internet resources, which owners have provided information. According to Konstantin Tikar, everything, what should be done technically, has been done.

«All resources, which owners have provided information, are registered, there created all technical and subsidiary means in order to register users and so on», Konstantin Tikar noted.
