Belarusian ruble has declined by almost 30% on the "black market" over May 14-15. As a source reported to Telegraf, "speculators in foreign currency" in Bobruisk sell dollar at the exchange rate of Br5.7 thousand against Br4.4 thousand at the end of last week.

According to an employee of one of the exchangers, Belarusians do not virtually hand the foreign currency to banks, preferring to sell it to «currency dealers.» «Those, who are strongly pressed, will buy for Br6 thousand,» said the businessman, importing goods to Belarus, who is now forced to buy foreign currency illegally, according to RIA «Novosti.»

At the same time, Belarusians on internet forums are ready to pay Br1.5 thousand per purchased dollar more for help in buying the currency at the bank rate in the exchange offices or for information about where the currency can be bought, willing.

As Telegraf previously reported, Monday, May 16, the dollar rate has reached Br4.5 thousand in the currency exchange offices of some Belarusian banks. So, Belagroprombank has set the purchasing dollar rate at Br4.49, the rate of sales — Br4.5 thousand. Belarusbank and Belgazprombank purchasing rate is 4.48, selling rate — Br4.5 thousand per dollar. Overall, as of 15:05, ten commercial banks have switched into new rates.
