BNF Party Promises not to Provoke Clashes with Police on March 25

BNF Party leader, Alexei Yanukevich, announced that, on March 25, during the celebration of Dzen Voli (Freedom Day) the opposition is not going to clash with the police. "We'll try to ensure that everything passes with dignity, that the March 25 celebration passes on the central avenue of the capital", added the politician. 

Alexei Yanukevich noted that the demonstration is planned to route along Nezavisimosti Avenue to Yanka Kupala Park, where they will have meeting. Head of BNF Party refused to lead people to Bangalore square, where Minsk City Executive Committee allowed to hold the meeting.

«Unfortunately, we must say that we are not always able to write scenario how events will go. It is important how Belarusian authorities will behave. For every variant of authorities’ behavior, we provide for our own variant of actions. No matter what happens — it will not be a surprise for us «, quoted BNF press office the words of Alexei Yanukevich.

Yanukevich also told about plans for Dzen Voli celebration. «We want to focus on the celebration to … pay attention of wide Belarusian society to the fact that we have a great holiday, which should be celebrated. We have planned a festive program, music, performances of bards, poets, there will be flowers and balloons, white-red-white flags, and we will distribute it. We really want to make it a holiday of Belarusian Independence, holiday of Belarusian solidarity», said the opposition politician.
