Borys Leaves Her Post of Head of Informal Union of Poles in Belarus

Andzelika Borys, chairman of the independent Union of Poles in Belarus, informed on intention to leave the post at the meeting of local activists of the organization. The assistant to the head of the organisation Andrzej Poczobut informed that such decision was a great surprise for the all UPB members.

«All of us are shocked by such decision», «Nasha Niva» quotes him. Andrzej Poczobut also added that at that time the active workers of the Union were going to ask Andzelika Borys to remain in her post. 

On June, 19th the organisation meeting is to be held. If Andzelika Borys doesn’t change the decision, caused by the serious personal reasons, the members will have to appoint an acting chairman.

According to the charter, he should fulfill the chairman duties till the end of the term of the successor, i.e. 2.5 years.

The representatives of the Union of Poles in Belarus haven’t made any comments on the information of the possible candidate for the given post.
