Brazil May Become For Belarus a Platform in Latin America, Martynov.

As minister of foreign affairs of Belarus Sergei Martynov reported in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil next to Venezuela has a potential to become another major platform for Belarus at the Latin American continent. "Alexander Lukashenko's visit to Brazil opened a new area of cooperation with this country, fundamentally important not only in the region, but also for the world economy", — convinced the Minister.

According to Sergei Martynov, heads of states negotiations determined the main directions for both parties in the development of cooperation. «This is the first in the history bilateral meeting between presidents of Belarus and Brazil, which laid the foundation for further cooperation between the two countries», — stressed head of the Foreign Ministry of Belarus.

Sergei Martynov believes that the meeting will promote the development of large-scale agricultural production, the Brazilian side was also interested in the establishment of assembly plants: it may be tractors and agricultural equipment, BelTA.

«Significant prospects are opened in the chemical industry. Belarus already supplies to Brazil tires in a big volume, and in the long term plans to increase the volume of these supplies. Brazil as a country with developed agriculture is interested in further supplies of potash from Belarus. Our country already shares a third of the Brazilian market supply of potash fertilizers, and this cooperation will continue «, — said Sergei Martynov.

Belarusian foreign minister said that governor of Rio de Janeiro- presented on the negotiations between heads of states- was interested in cooperation with Belarus. «Regional cooperation will be the key to cooperation between Belarus and Brazil,» — said the head of the Foreign Ministry.

Brazil supported Belarusian initiative on prevention of human trafficking, access to alternative and renewable energy, development of interreligious and cultural dialogue.
