Broad money supply (cash and non-cash of individuals, legal persons and the State) has increased by 4.2% in Belarus in January — February 2011 and amounted to more than Br52.3 trillion by March 1. According to the National Bank, the amount of cash in circulation of the country has increased from Br4.4 trillion to Br4.7 trillion.
Meanwhile, the monetary aggregate M1, which takes into account the banks’ current accounts, has decreased by 3.6% to Br13.1 trillion for the period. The share of monetary aggregate M1 in the structure of broad money supply has fallen down to 25.1% since the beginning of the year.
According to the National Bank, the money supply in the national definition totaled Br26.7 trillion on March 1, while ruble money supply — Br28.1 trillion.
