In the first stage of the election campaign the Central Election Commission "was too tolerant", CEC secretary Nikolai Lozovik said. "If we say that we continue to be too tolerant, they can get out of hand! They can be too far beyond the pale. If there is a flagrant and deliberate disregard for the requirements of legislation, the CEC will respond firmly," the official representative of the CEC said.

The Central Election Commission plans to complete the registration of presidential candidates before the deadline, so that the candidates could start the campaign until November 24. «We are to start recording on November, 14 and finish until November, 23. So we’ll try to hold a meeting of the commission somewhere in the middle of this interval. We don’t hold up to pull up to the last day», Nikolai Lozovik said, «European Radio for Belarus» informs.
According to the secretary, the CEC wants the candidates to have at least a month for election campaigning. Moreover, according to Nikolai Lozovik, although the commission is able to register presidential candidates by turn, the CEC will do that at a time.
«The CEC, of course, have the right to consider the first one, then the second, the third and so on. But we have no such practice to create unequal conditions. All candidates must be on equal terms. Including the time to start,» the CEC representative said.
Not just the members of Lukashenko’s action group may collect signatures for him, Lozovik
There was only one warning during the first phase of the campaign. It was received by the action group of the leader of «Tell the truth!» civil campaign Uladzimir Niakliaeu. According to Nikolai Lozovik, other applicants also had some violations. «Other potential candidates also made some violations. But we are quite easy on such attempts to act on the brink,» the secretary of the CEC said.
Nikolai Lozovik also commented on the actions of supporters of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, accused of numerous violations, including that the signatures for the head of state were gathered by the people who were not the members of his action group.»This case was the subject of consideration at the meeting of the Minsk city election commission. We gave an explanation: while collecting signatures an assistant of the member of the action  group has also the right to fill in the subscription list, write the name and surname, address and passport details», the secretary of the commission said.
Nikolai Lozovik said that all the complaints to the CEC are the testimony to political activity of certain parts of society. However, according to the Secretary of the CEC, he does not understand that how the people could by be offended by the chairman of the Central Election Commission Lidia Yermoshina, who refused further correspondence on the issue of illegal registration of Alexander Lukashenko’s action group.
We welcome the transparent ballot boxes, Lozovik
According to Nikolai Lozovik, the CEC has no money to provide the polling stations with transparent ballot boxes. «We welcome transparent ballot boxes, but we will not force anyone  to buy them. This is the case of an enterprise that equips polling place. In our budget there is no money. And if Mr. Niakliaeu puts them to the polls — so be it. If he has so much money,» Nikolai Lozovik said.
