The Government of China decided to grant Belarus a soft loan of one billion dollars for the implementation of joint projects. Vice chairman of the Peoples Republic of China Xi Jinping made this statement on the meeting with the head of Belarus in Minsk.
According to the deputy chairman of China, President Hu Jintao personally ordered Chinese officials to study all the proposals of Belarusian side on development of joint projects.
«We need to develop the potential of trade and promote cooperation in most large-scale projects, and thereby raise the level of our cooperation», — said Xi.
The representative of China welcomed Alexander Lukashenko’s decision to visit China during Days of Belarus on the exhibition «Shanghai Expo» and stressed that Hu Jintao is ready to meet again with the head of Belarusian State in any mutually convenient time.
«For 18 years of diplomatic relations between Belarus and China, the dynamics of bilateral cooperation achieved such results that may be considered as a model of relations between states» — the politician believes.
«In recent years our relations entered a completely new phase. We see in Belarus a reliable partner and true friend, the development of contacts will always remain firm and unwavering policy of the Chinese government,» — said Xi.
China will support Belarus on the international scene.
Xi said China is ready to support Belarus in UN Human Rights Council during the hearing of the report on the situation in Belarus, adding that China hopes to strengthen cooperation with Minsk in the international arena and closer coordinate foreign policy positions.
«China expresses its appreciation for the steadfast support of Belarus in the international arena of the issues of Taiwan, Tibet, human rights and impeding the «Falun Gong» sectarians,- said the deputy chairman of the People’s Republic.
According to the PRC representative, the Chinese government and people appreciate the right of the Belarusian nation to determine its internal and foreign policy, BelTA informs.
Belarus and China will sign contracts for 3.4 billion dollars, Xi.
According to the deputy chairman of China, banks and companies of Belarus and China during the visit of vice president of China will sign contracts for 3.4 billion dollars.
«We agreed that the parties should endeavor to promote bilateral trade and economic cooperation and bring them to a new level», — said Xi.
The politician said that the last year country managed to withstand the severe test of the global financial crisis: the trade turnover between Belarus and China reached 870 million and decreased by 5.7%, much less as compared with a reduction in trade with other countries.
