Pre-trial proceedings on the "oil" claim of Belarus to Russia will continue on June 22. The decision to hold an executive session in these terms was adopted on May 19 by the CIS Economic Court, where Belarus had appealed to demand Russia cancel export duties on oil products.

As explained in the court’s press service, the reason for deferring the lawsuit was that during the meeting on May 19 «in accordance with article 61 of the Regulations of the CIS Economic Court there were examining issues of specifying claims of the government of the Republic of Belarus, the need to get a response of the Russian government, provision of necessary additional materials with duration terms of committing these acts and other matters».

Earlier, Telegraf reported that on March 25 Belarusian Ministry of Justice applied to the CIS Economic Court with a claim on the issue concerning the legality of levying by Moscow from January 1, 2010 export customs duties on oil products and petrochemical raw materials supplied from Russia to Belarus.
