"Thus, one deputy mandate was claimed by 1,2 a potential candidate. This figure is higher than on elections of 1999, 2003 and 2007", — CEC commented on the outcome of the nomination.
Chairman of the CEC noted that the competition among the candidates in the capital and regional towns is higher than it was during the previous elections in 2007, but lower than in 2003.
«On average, 5,4 candidates nominated in Minsk for one constituency. In the other councils — regional, district, urban activity on the nomination remains at level of 2007. In particular, competition in the regional councils is 1,8, district — 1,3, in city councils and councils of regional subordination cities — 2,1, in rural — 1,1 people for seat», — informed the head of the CEC.
Lydia Yermoshina noted that collection of signatures is still the most common form of nomination. «60% of candidates applying for the nomination used it. 35,2% of the total number of potential candidates are nominated by the labor collectives. Also among nominated are 6,3% of young citizens to 30 years, women — 44,6%. In addition, 29 citizens of Russia claim the parliamentary mandate, and 2,7% of all candidates are non-working citizens «, — said the head of the CEC.
Party nominated twice more candidates as compared to previous elections, CEC.
Lydia Yermoshina noted and that the political parties nominated candidates for deputies of local councils twice more, than on previous elections. «Representatives of political parties account for 2% of the number of nominated candidates for deputies of local councils.
