Russian political analyst, Sergey Kara-Murza, believes that the conflict between Moscow and Minsk, which is going on in information space, is not more than just a show for the West. "Belarusian-Russian relations are of strategic nature, what comes not only from common economic interests but also from mental and military-political spheres", the political scientist noted.

According to the political analyst, pro-Western forces as in Russia so and in Belarus are so active that any politician who could be in Medvedev, Putin and Lukashenko’s shoes would imitate conflicts and scandals, KMnews informs.

«All that is for the public’s needs, mostly for the western. And behind the scenes, I think, they speak purely pragmatic language», Sergey Kara-Murza says.

«If these scandals had another goal, they would have developed. But we do not see it. And no matter how much our TV shows new episodes about «Godbatska», nothing will change. Such a strategy is very common in a cynical administrative culture: politicians quarrel among themselves to show that they are not in close liaison», Sergey Kara-Murza believes.

The reality is that Alexander Lukashenko will not leave, Pavlovsky

Russian political analyst, Gleb Pavlovsky, commented on the rumors that «Russian kingpin» movie about Vladimir Putin — Belarusian response to «Godbatska» — may appear soon, Vzglyad newspaper informs.

According to Gleb Pavlovsky, we should expect that. «I am not a big supported of such an exchange with bombs of mud, but it has a positive side. TV is just TV, and a movie is just a movie after all. So while the authorities are «bumping each other off» with «TV bombardments», journalists have the opportunity to investigate certain things, and all the others get a sharp show. In general, there is no big harm in it».

At the same time, the analyst underlined that «they will have to overcome the deadlock». «Russia can not afford to have relations with Minsk similar to relations with Kiev of Yushchenko time or, God forbid, with Tbilisi», Gleb Pavlovsky believes.

As Pavlovsky underlines, any decision should be based on reality. «And the reality is that Alexander Lukashenko will not leave. You must understand it very clearly. Someone may like him or not, but he will not leave. And his resources to save his power or even expand it in the event of a conflict with Moscow are rather big», the political scientist considers.

Asked whether Alexander Lukashenko should be given what he wants, Gleb Pavlovsky answered «Oh, no! In politics, such gifts result only extortion of further gifts. They must negotiate».
