Sergey Kupriyanov, official representative of Gazprom, stated that the gas conflict with Belarus was settled. According to the Press Secretary of the Russian gas holding, in spite of the fact that the parties have to solve "some disagreements with the transit rate", "now there are no reasons" for the problems with transit or deliveries of gas to Belarus.
Gazprom was to be allowed to earn money at Belarusian market. And this term wasn’t provided, that’s why Gazprom couldn’t agree on transit payment at higher rate. And it was impossible to pay under the base rate, since the Belarusian party did not sign certificates at that price «, Sergey Kupriyanov explained, PRIME-TASS informs.
Gazprom has transferred earlier on Beltransgaz account 228 million dollars payment of a transit debt, however Belarus insists on payment of 260 million dollars. Belarus has already paid the indebtedness on gas deliveries in January-April, 2010 and paid for gas, delivered in May.
The representatives of Gazprom said that the request of the Belarusian party to pay for gas transit under the increased rate was unreasonable.
