Monday, February 28, the president of the unrecognized government of Côte d'Ivoire Laurent Gbagbo denied the information about the deliveries of helicopter gunships from Belarus. This was reported by Dawn Mello, the official from the administration of Laurent Gbagbo.

As Telegraf previously reported, UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon issued a statement, accusing the Belarusian authorities of violating the arms embargo, imposed on Cote d’Ivoire in 2004. According to the UN, Minsk began to illegally supply military helicopters to the armed groups, supporting the President of Côte d’Ivoire, Laurent Gbagbo, not recognized by the world community.

In turn, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, regarded the statement of the UN Secretary General as «information war» and «false fabrications» about Belarus. MFA also questioned the authenticity of the statement, attributed to Ban Ki-moon.
