Council of Ministers Approved Higher Rates of Export Oil Duties

Belarus will increase rates of export customs duties on oil and oil products, exported outside the customs territory of the Customs Union, from February 1, 2011. The corresponding solution was approved by the Council of Ministers of Belarus on January 27, 2011.

As reported in the government, the rate of export duty on crude oil will
amount to $346.6 per ton (in January the rate was $317.5) from February
1, oil with a sulfur content — $137.6 (in January — $117.5).

Duty
on light oil products (light distillates, middle distillates) was set
at $232.2 per ton (January — $226.2) by new decree of the Council of
Ministers. Duty on heavy petroleum products (liquid fuels, oils, waste
oils) will increase from $121.9 to $161.8; from $149.3 dollars to $198.8
— on propane, butane, ethylene, propylene, butylene and butadiene,
other liquefied gases; from $121.9  to $161.8 — on petroleum jelly,
mineral waxes and similar products.

The rate of export duty per
ton of petroleum coke and bitumen, as well as other residues of the
processed petroleum oils or oils, obtained from bituminous minerals,
will be $161.8 from 1 February, while benzene, toluene, xylene will cost
$232.2.
