Council of Ministers Approved Lists of Scientific and Technical Programs up to 2020

Council of Ministers approved lists of scientific and technical programs for 2011-2015 and for the period until 2020 by Decree № 116 on February 1. As reported by the Council of Ministers, three lists were approved: a list of state scientific and technical programs, regional and state comprehensive and targeted research programs.

In addition, the Council of Ministers defined representatives of the coordinating councils for government complex target scientific and technical programs, as well as the heads of these programs and their deputies.

Also, according to the decree, there were abrogated some of the previous rulings of the Council of Ministers, in particular, the resolution of the Council of Ministers № 5 «On approving the list of state scientific and technical programs for 2006-2010 and the period up to 2015» of January 4, 2006.

Thus, the list of state science and technology programs includes 28 programs — in energy, electronics and microelectronics, medicine, biotechnology and nanotechnology, agriculture, information technology, environmental management and environmental protection.

List of regional science and technology programs provides innovative development of each region, as well as creating conditions for successful functioning of industrial, agricultural, construction, housing complexes and related industries.

The third list includes such complex targeted scientific and technical programs as «Energy and Energy Efficiency», «Chemical Technology», «Machinery and Transport, Materials and Technologies», «Electro-optical technologies and devices,» «safety, prevention and disaster management,» «Natural Resources and Environment,» «Architecture and Building Industry,» «Information and Space Technology,» «Biotechnology» and «Medicine and Pharmacy.»

In addition, the republic will develop a new direction, in particular, development and production of unmanned aerial vehicles. Thus, Belarus plans to create multi-purpose unmanned aerial systems for aerial reconnaissance, monitoring, land and water surfaces.

According to the resolution of the Council of Ministers, the coordinators of government complex targeted scientific and technical programs are First Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Vladimir Semashko and Vice Prime Minister of Belarus — Anatoli Kalinin, Valeri Ivanov, Anatoli Tozik.
