May 12, Court of the Frunzenski district of Minsk, conducting the process "of the case on December 19, refused to hear the testimony of the leader of the Movement "For Freedom," Alexander Milinkevich. Thus, the politician could not act as a witness in the case of former presidential candidate Vladimir Niakliaeu and Vital Rymasheuski, accused of participation, organization and preparation of the activities that breach public order."

Denial of the petition, claimed by the defense, was motivated by the judge by the fact that Alexander Milinkevich was not present at Independence Square on December 19, the press service of the leader of the Movement «For Freedom.»

Alexander Milinkevich stated about his plans to testify in court that the organizers of the protest against the rigged presidential elections had had no single scenario of the action.

«Some of the protesters intended to conduct an action at Kastrychnitskaya Square, others — Independence Square; someone wanted to go to protest by the residence. People had intended to protest peacefully. The candidates had different strategies; thus charges of conspiracy, as well as in organizing mass disorder, have no basis,» said Alexander Milinkevich.

As Telegraf previously reported, the Frunzenski district court of Minsk is conducting a trial against former presidential candidates — Vladimir Niakliaeu and Vital Rymasheuski together with members of their election headquarters — Andrei Dmitriev, Alexander Feduta, Anastasia Palazhanka and Sergei Vozniak. All of them are accused of participation, organization and preparation of the activities that breach public order. «Sergei Vozniak is also accused of giving «false testimony» under Part 1, Article 401 of CC.
